School Nutrition Update
Good Morning,
The Michigan Department of Education (MDE) remains optimistic that an approved and signed budget will prioritize the health and nutritional needs of students by including Michigan School Meals funding, which has been included in budgets for the last two fiscal years. We have been instructed by MDE to continue to provide breakfast and lunch to students as we have since the beginning of the school year.
It is my hope the both the state and federal legislative and executive branches of government can produce budgets that do not have a negative impact on children.
Sincerely,
Bill Valima
